Anglo American Posts Small Increase in Output In Q3

Production for the first nine months of this year, however, dropped by almost 10 percent.

De Beers' parent company, Anglo American Corp, reported diamond production of 6.3 million carats for the third quarter of 2016.

Anglo American, which owns 85% of De Beers, said there had been a 4 percent rise on the same quarter of 2015.

De Beers cut back output in the third quarter of last year due to a fall in demand as a result of what were seen as too-high rough prices.

For the first three-quarters of this year, production was 19.6 million carats, which is a nine percent decline on last year's figure.
