Yehezkel (Hezi) Blum joined the diamond industry in 1980 and became a diamond exchange member in 1990.
He holds a BA in Economics and Business Administration from Bar-Ilan University.
In 1993 he founded Blum-Gem, a diamond manufacturing and export company, and Yarmouk, which is involved in investment and project finance.
Since 1985, he has been involved in public activity in the Israel Diamond Exchange and has served as an arbitrator in the arbitration institution and as an observer on the Taxation, Insurance and Audit committees.
In the elections held in 2001, he was elected to the Audit Committee and chaired the committee.
In the 2007 elections, he was again elected as a member of the stock exchange's management and served as chairman of the 70-year events committee for the stock exchange and as chairman of the financing committee.
In the June 2009 elections, he was again elected to the Executive and appointed Vice President (in rotation). In this term, he serves as President and Chairman of the Judicial Committee.
