Last week, we had the honor to celebrate the 90th birthday of Mr. Pinhas Pozailov, the Israel Diamond Exchange's honored member along with his wife Shoshana, his children and his extended family.
Pinhas's special personality and his long-standing influence on the industry were mentioned in each of the blessings that were given at the ceremony. Speakers said that apart from his tremendous contribution to the Israeli industry, Pinhas as a person touched and influenced everyone who met him along the way as a diamantaire, a public figure and a family man.
"Pinhas for me is part of the foundation and root of our diamond exchange, one of the veteran pioneers who paved and shaped our industry to be what it is today," Said president Yoram Dvash during the ceremony, "It is a great privilege to celebrate the 90th birthday of a person like Pinhas, a man who broke through the 1940s and 1950s when the State of Israel was at the beginning of its path, and led the industry as a whole thanks to the vision he had in his day. He always worked with tremendous effort, imagination and constant faith on the way. "
Many of the speakers shared a personal story and shared how each time they met Pinhas , they learned from him and drew great inspiration from the person he was. "We had a conversation before running to the management for the first time, and with great openness and with great knowledge, Pinchas told me about the history of the industry and his worldview, and I was thrilled by the meeting with him, his warm personality and his love for our diamond exchange. " Said Yoram Dvash.
The birthday celebration was a great moment for the diamond exchange. Apart from a private celebration, it is a great tribute to Pinhas and the industry's first members.
